A fire at an oil storage facility near the strategic bomber air base in Engels, Russia, is ongoing, said Roman Busargin, governor of the Saratov region. He announced this on Friday, January 10.
According to him, the residents are experiencing “discomfort.”
“The process of fuel burnout continues. According to experts, it will be approximately two days,” the message said.
In particular, on the afternoon of January 9, due to weather conditions, residents of the city of Engels “may experience discomfort due to smoke.”

Earlier on Wednesday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a strike on an oil depot in the city of Engels, Saratov region. There, an oil depot that supplied fuel to Russian strategic aircraft caught fire.
