We are talking about the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, which is one of the largest metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine and Europe.
The Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv arrested and transferred to the Asset Tracing and Management Agency (ARMA) the property of JSC Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant of businessman Igor Kolomoisky. The press service of the agency reported this on Monday, January 20.
Among the transferred assets: four diesel locomotives, 13 dump cars (dump cars – ed.), 25 cars, 120 gondola cars, more than 13 thousand tons of finished ferroalloy products.
“The business property was transferred in accordance with the decision of the investigative judge of the Shevchenko District Court of the city of Kyiv dated December 27, 2024. The decision was made within the framework of criminal proceedings regarding the misuse of public fund in 2014 at that time by the officials of PJSC CB PrivatBank, which are former shareholders of the bank, especially the famous oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and his entourage, ” said the message.
While the investigation was established, PrivatBank officials in 2014 obtained more than 19 billion hryvnias, which the National Bank allocated for refinancing.
“The basis for such actions are dubious loan agreements, the guarantee of which is property rights to goods and property, including the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant,” ARMA said.
The agency recalled that the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant is one of the largest metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine and Europe. The plant is the second in the world in terms of production of manganese alloys, providing more than 11% of the world market.
Currently, the situation in Nikopol is difficult, because the city is under constant shelling. This poses a significant risk to the safe operation of the plant and the preservation of its assets.
“This situation requires additional measures to ensure the safety of assets and ensure their effective use in conditions of military aggression. Therefore, ARMA will use the capabilities of the State Space Agency of Ukraine to monitor the condition of assets in dangerous areas through remote sensing of the Earth from space,” the agency added.
Let’s recall that in November 2023, the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant suspended production due to shelling. At the same time, the construction and repairs related to the modernization of energy equipment and communications, which have repeatedly been damaged as a result of shelling, will not stop.
