The drive was built on the latest UltraQLC platform and positioned as a solution for companies that create infrastructure, where density, efficiency and performance are essential.

American company Sandisk announced the first in the SSD Drive industry with a volume of 256 terabyte, Tom’s hardware reports. Being new is created for businesses working with large amounts of data – for example, in the field of cloud services or artificial intelligence. Along with a 256-the-aaaaa-dway model, a version of 128 TB was also displayed.

Both drives are built on the new UltraQLC platform, which combines the high density of recording, stable performance and reliability. SSD is provided with the U.2 form factor and uses a new multi-core controller chip, its own development firmware and 3D NANMORY BICS8 with a capacity of 2 teeth.

One of the major innovations is the direct writing of QLC technology: it allows you to record data directly in QLC-Cocked QLC, by avoiding intermediate SLC cache, that is, making it possible to reduce delays, simplify the recording process and increase electricity resistance. At the same time, the influence of a new performance approach can be negative-the absence of SLC cache affects speed, as QLC memory data is slower than the SLC (delayed 800-1200 μs against 200-300 μs). However, unlike the SSD cache, here the performance remains stable during long -term recording -which is useful for processing large AI massives that cover the clock.

Another new function is the dynamic frequency of scale, which is said to give you to increase the productivity by 10% without increasing energy consumption. How exactly this system works, Sandisk has not yet revealed, but perhaps to optimize the controller frequency and interface speed depending on the load.

In addition, the drive has received a special data care profile, which reduces the wear of memory cells by 33% due to a smaller number of writing writing writing.

It is expected that the release of the models will take place in the first half of 2026.

Remember that it was previously reported that the SSD drive was losing information without power.
