US President Donald Trump issued an executive decree that provides for an additional 25% of customs tariffs against India through the purchase of Russian oil.
The text of the relevant document today, August 6, is published on the web -house of the White House.
I believe that the government of India currently directly or indirectly imports oil from the Russian Federation, the document says.
An additional duty will enter into force 21 day after the publication of this resolution.
It should be noted that if the actions provided for by this resolution will not be effective in response to an emergency caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine, or if the Russian government or other foreign state take measures against the United States in response, the United States may take additional steps.
The document also provides that if the Government of the Russian Federation or another country to which this decree extends will require “significant steps” to resolve the situation and reconcile its position with the United States, Trump’s order can be changed.
The US government will also monitor other countries directly or indirectly. In the case of such facts, a similar duty can be widespread.
So, yesterday, August 5, in an interview with Bloomberg TV, a regular representative of the United States in NATO Matthew Vikuker, said the secondary sanctions and tariffs for the purchase of Russian oil were also considered against China and Brazil.
