ISW: Negotiations on Putin’s terms do not guarantee peace

The Kremlin has said it is ready to negotiate with Trump, but its negotiating position remains unchanged, analysts stressed.

No negotiations between the Kremlin and Western countries after the end of the war in Ukraine on the terms of the Russian dictator Putin can be a guarantee of sustainable peace. This is stated in a report by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The Kremlin confirmed its readiness to negotiate with Ukraine with newly elected US President Donald Trump without any “preconditions,” but noted that its negotiating position remains unchanged, experts emphasized.

“No negotiations will lead to a full and lasting peace as long as Putin remains a supporter of these demands, despite the Kremlin’s ‘readiness’ to negotiate with Western leaders,” ISW said.

Let’s remember that the day before Donald Trump said that Putin wanted to meet with him. According to him, it seems that such a meeting is being prepared.
