The rapid advance of the enemy’s troops in the direction of Pokrovsky caused the dismissal of Alexander Lutsenko.
Brigadier General Alexander Lutsenko was removed from his position as commander of the Donetsk operational-tactical group. The Financial Times reported this on Friday, December 13, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official.
It was noted that the reason for the staff’s decision was the rapid advance of enemy troops in the direction of Pokrovsky.
His place was taken by Brigadier General Alexander Tarnavsky, who previously commanded the Tavria group.
Also, the Ukrainian official cited by the FT said that Lutsenko will receive another position in the Ground Forces.
Meanwhile, Ukrainskaya Pravda, citing its sources in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, personally arrived to replace the commander.
The DeepState project, which is associated with the General Staff, also reported the dismissal of Lutsenko, who will continue to hold “a position at the command of the Ground Forces.”
It was previously reported that near Pokrovsk, fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed Russian forces that were five times larger in number.
