According to the report, the prosecutor’s office in Plzensky territory demanded one of the suspects, a 39-year-old BMW driver, up to three years in prison, and his 28-year-old passenger five years.
The event took place at the end of January on the D5 highway near Pilsen. According to the investigation, during the truck’s seizure, BMW’s car passenger was probably shot from a slingshot by a truck cabin, which broke the side glass. The incident was recorded in the video: the frame shows how the BMW slowed down next to the truck, the passenger protruding from the window, after which glass fragments fly to the truck’s cab. The BMW driver after noticeably obtaining speed and leaving the scene.
It was noted that the accident was miraculously managed to avoid – the truck driver stopped safely on the sides, and no one was injured. However, the prosecutor emphasizes that these actions can lead to a serious accident. At the time of the incident, the truck moved at a speed of 90 km/h, and the rapid reaction of other drivers helped prevent a mass accident.
The BMW passenger at the time of the investigation declined his involvement in glass damage. According to him, he only showed the truck driver on the middle finger because of the fact that he suddenly started reaching for another truck. He suggested that the glasses could be damaged by the rocks from the road or because of the actions of the truck driver itself.
