Law enforcement officials have expressed suspicions about 10 employees of Ukrzaliznytsia based on the results of massive searches. All of them are members of a group that resells tickets for international trains, the Kiev City Prosecutor’s Office reported on Wednesday, December 11.
The investigation proved that the head of the Main Trade Union Organization of the Carriage Section of Art. Kyiv-Passenger branch of the Passenger Company. He attracted the deputy head of this section, train crew instructors and head of international trains.

“They were sold at the price of 300-500 euros per ticket, while the official price of the ticket for the Kyiv-Warsaw train is 3,700 hryvnias. The passengers paid the money to the train captains or international conductors,” said of the report.

According to such schemes, in January-June 2024, tickets were sold for trains No. 67/68 Kyiv-Warsaw, No. 19/20 Kyiv-Helm, No. 119/120 Dnepr-Kyiv-Helm-Kyiv-Dnepr, No. . 23/24 Kyiv-Dnepr Chelm, No. 89/90 Kyiv-Przemysl, No. 351/352 Kyiv-Chisinau, as well as on other international trains. The participants in the scheme split the proceeds among themselves.
As reported by the National Police, for each flight the train director has to deposit in the “cash office” from 2 thousand UAH from the route in Ukraine and from 2 thousand to 5 thousand euros from the most popular foreign routes.
According to preliminary estimates, as a result of uncounted ticket sales, Ukrzaliznytsia lost more than 73 million Hryvnias in revenue.
In more than 80 searches, law enforcement officers seized money in national and foreign currency worth about UAH 5 million, cars, draft records, documentation, and telephones.
Depending on the role and participation in criminal plans, the suspects are charged with the articles of creation, management of a criminal community or criminal organization, as well as participation in it, abuse of power or official position (part 1, 2 and 3 of Article 255, part 1 and 2 Art 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
We remind you that this morning it became known that a large-scale search is taking place in Ukrzaliznytsia. Abuses by a group of officials in the service and transportation of passengers by international trains are being investigated.
It was previously reported that in the first half of this year, several corruption schemes were discovered in Ukrzaliznytsia. About 350 million UAH were seized from the suspects.
