The ShinyHunters Hackers Group has created a Google Database that is a huge -scale hacking, as a result of which the safety of 2.5 billion Gmail accounts worldwide is at risk. The incident reports Daily Mail.

The investigation found that in addition to accessing a large database of accounts, hackers managed to steal business files with contact data from customers and company names. This was possible after receiving access to the working data of Google’s employee in June 2025.

Although Google ensures that users’ passwords are not injured, experts have noticed something else: stolen data is actively used by attacks for phishing attacks. Users are widely reporting weak -calls and emails in which scammers have introduced Google employees, trying to force people to drop passwords or move confirmation codes.

Cybersecurity expert James Knight has expressed a particular concern for this incident. He noted that such an event could be one of the most dangerous in history. In the Daily Mail commentary, he emphasized: “If you have received a call or a message on behalf of Google, in nine of the ten cases it is fraud. Hackers are actively using desire and phishing for accessing accounts.”

Knight recommends that users change their passwords immediately, especially if weak or used on different platforms. It is also important to enable multifactorial validation and undergo security check in Google settings.

The Shinyhunters Group has previously gained horrific popularity due to attacks on large corporations. According to experts, Gmail addresses are extremely important for hackers, as they allow you to steal personal information, blacking the victims or attacking companies related to them.

Google confirmed the fact of hacking, but did not provide details about the number of injured accounts. Also, the company’s representatives refused to comment on information about possible ransom.

Specialists encourage all Gmail users to be careful and refrain from sending passwords or confirmation codes, even if the appeals seem to be official.
