In the last weeks, Germany and the entire European Union have made more diplomatic efforts than before, the German Chancellor said.
German Chancellor Frederick Mertz prevented the development of the peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian War in Congress of the Christian Democratic Union branch in Znabruk. In his opinion, the parties were just at the beginning of this process, the German media report TRT Global.
“We took the first steps. But I would say figuratively: We are at a distance of ten kilometers and, perhaps, the first two hundred meters have passed. In any case, we are moving in the right direction,” the German government chief said.
He added that over the past three weeks, Germany and the entire European Union have made more diplomatic efforts than before.
“Let others say now that we are just discussing the supply of weapons,” he emphasized.
The Chancellor noted that the task of resolving the war in the coming months remains very difficult, especially considering the position of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Remember that the media said that Putin had come to see Zelensky until the end of August. He said about this in a conversation with Trump. The meeting must first take place in bilateral format, and eventually – with the participation of the leaders of Ukraine, USA and the Russian Federation.
Mertz called the deadline for meeting Zelensky-Putin
