In particular, Kyiv and Bucharest will focus on the development of R-360 Neptun anti-ship missiles. Plans for Romanian-Ukrainian military-industrial partnership are expected for the post-war period. Romania seeks to have Ukraine as an ally in controlling the waters of the Black Sea from its territory. This was reported by the Army Recognition publication.
This spring it became known that the Ukrainian defense industry is developing a new modernization of the Neptune. The gunsmiths are working on making the R-360’s range of destruction up to 1,000 km.
The article says that Neptune was first presented in 2015 in Kyiv, and it entered service with the Ukrainian fleet in 2021. The missile weighs 870 km and is 5.05 m long. This weapon is designed to destroy ships with a displacement of up to 9 thousand tons and has a range of more than 200 km.
It was Ukrainian Neptune missiles that sank the Russian missile cruiser Moskva in April 2022.
Let us recall that France, Germany, Italy and Poland agreed to jointly develop new land-based missiles that will be able to hit targets at a distance of up to 500 km.
