Explosions also occurred near several other hospitals in northern Gaza. The IDF said the strike was carried out by Hamas.
In the north of the Gaza Strip, Israeli tanks surrounded Al-Nasr Hospital and Al-Rantisi Pediatric Hospital. The head of the hospital, Mustafa al-Kahlut, announced this on Friday, November 10, CNN reports.
He turned to the Red Cross for evacuation help.
“We are completely cordoned off, there are tanks near the hospital and we cannot leave. We have no electricity, no oxygen for the patients, we have no medicine and water. We do not know our fate,” said Mustafa al -Kahlut
The publication said the hospital complex is located near the Sheikh Radwan area and the Al-Shati camp, where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Hamas reported clashes on the ground.
Explosions also occurred near several other hospitals in northern Gaza, including Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the largest medical facility in the Gaza Strip.
A World Health Organization (WHO) spokesman said on Friday that al-Shifa was “being bombed”, adding that 20 hospitals in the Gaza Strip were “not working”.
Asked about a potential Israeli airstrike on Al Shifa hospital on Friday, WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris told a briefing: “I don’t have details about Al Shifa, but we know they are being bombed.”
In this regard, the Israeli military said on Friday night that the attack on the Al-Shifa hospital was caused by a misfired shell fired from the Gaza Strip.
The IDF said a review of its operating systems showed that “a projectile launched by terrorist organizations inside the Gaza Strip hit Al-Shifa Hospital.”
The projectile was aimed at “IDF troops operating nearby,” the Israeli military said.
Earlier, the Gaza Strip announced large-scale displacement of people. About 80,000 residents of the Gaza Strip traveled south after Israeli troops advanced into central Gaza City.
