The citizen of Simferopol was detained in advance by FSB officers and therefore “he did not have time to commit a terrorist attack,” Russian media assured.
The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a 36-year-old resident of the temporarily occupied Simferopol in Crimea to 10 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 220,000 rubles. The Russians suspected him of “preparing to destroy the railroad.” This was reported by the Russian propaganda news agency TASS in connection with the FSB press service.
“The court found the defendant guilty of the alleged crimes and sentenced him to 10 years in prison in a strict regime correctional colony with a fine of 220,000 rubles and a ban on managing websites for 2 years and 6 months,” the report said.
The man found the relevant instructions, and also made explosive devices from illegally purchased parts.
