Since the start of the full-scale war with Russia, almost 8,000 Metinvest employees have joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was announced by the company’s General Director Yuri Ryzhenkov.
“Metinvest employees used to make peaceful metal, and now they forged the victory of Ukraine. Today, almost 8,000 of our colleagues serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are proud and grateful to every defender of the country and waiting for them at home,” said Ryzhenkov.
According to him, the company was very quickly reorganized in a war: as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s military initiative Steel Front, the company began to produce bulletproof vests, mobile shelters and protective elements for cars on the front line.
And to support the Ukrainians, the company, in cooperation with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, launched the humanitarian project Save a Life: in one year it became a huge social initiative that helped almost 500,000 people with food and essentials, medications, psychological rehabilitation and prosthetics.
“We will absolutely defend Avdiivka and Ukrainian New York, return to Mariupol. As well as Ukrainian Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea. The aggressor must answer for the damage done to Ukraine, Ukrainian business, every Ukrainian. Last year, the Metinvest against Russia at the European court for human rights. We will sue the Russians, we will pay all losses to the last cent,” Ryzhenkov promised.
Recall that during the 15 months of the war, Metinvest sent UAH 3.7 billion to help Ukraine. Of this amount, more than 2 billion was directed to the needs of the army.
Metinvest also spoke about how the needs of soldiers at the front changed during a mass war.
