President Vladimir Zelensky conducted a conversation with the Director-Administrator of Financial Fund Kristalina Georgieva. The head of the state announced this on Thursday, August 7.
“He informed about our work with partners as soon as the end of the war, about talking yesterday with President Trump and European leaders and our next steps. We are doing everything possible to achieve a worthy and long world this year. We are grateful to all who help us, and, of course, we hope to continue support,” said the President.
Zelensky and Georgiev also discussed a new financial assistance program for Ukraine.
“It is important to hear that the IMF sees: Despite the war, Ukraine fulfills all obligations and introduces reforms. We have discussed a new financial aid program that will strengthen Ukrainians today and during the post -war. We are ready to quickly take all the necessary steps. The government is working here,” the head of the state added.
Also in the conversation, additional funding for Ukrainian soldiers was discussed. Various options are currently considered.
We remind you, earlier government leader Yulia Sviridenko who allowed Ukraine to appeal to the IMF for an additional trenches. The Prime Minister also announced the visit to the IMF mission to Kyiv in late August.
