The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, said that the director of the department for the protection of cultural heritage of the Kyiv City State Administration, Oleksandr Nikoryak, who was noticed at the exit of the restaurant at night, during a deep curfew, would be fired.

Recently, Ukrayinska Pravda received information that some premium class establishments in the capital are operating during a curfew. According to sources, the work of restaurants does not stop even in the last month of constant shelling of Kyiv.

The journalists decided to spend the night from Saturday to Sunday, June 3, to check the capital’s restaurants. As it turned out, the establishments do not just work at night, but are even visited by developers, law enforcement officers and Kyiv officials who must monitor compliance with curfews.

At the exit of one of the restaurants, UP noticed Nikoryak – he celebrated his wife’s birthday at curfew during an air raid in a restaurant in the center of Kyiv.

Nikoryak arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before the curfew and drove at two in the morning in the car of the capital developer Artur Mkhitaryan.

This is a conflict of interest. After all, the Nikoryak department is often the key authority that can stop construction, issue orders and fines,” wrote Mikhail Tkach, the author of the investigation.

Klitschko wrote on June 7 that there is administrative responsibility for curfew violations for all citizens, and an official, of any rank, also bears political responsibility.

I appeal to law enforcement agencies once again about control and prosecution of entertainment and catering establishments for their work during the curfew,” the mayor of the capital added.
