Chinese brand Oppo plans to stop including charging device mobile phone boxes by 2023.
In accordance with AndroidPoliceBilly Zhang, Vice President of International Sales and Service Oppoconfirmed the news during the presentation of Reno8 for Europe.
Markets without chargers
“Next year we will take the charger out of the box for several products. We have a plan,” Zhang said.
What’s the plan? Not known yet. It is not known which devices will ship without a charger in 2023, but this is expected to be a market-driven strategy, so it is possible that the charger will continue to arrive in some countries in certain regions.
“It is not easy for consumers to access charging device SuperVOOC, so we have to keep it in the box,” the executive continued. “However, as we expand our business operations, we are looking to charging device out of the box and put them in the store so our users can buy chargers and keep using them even when they upgrade their devices.”
recurring trend
stop relying on charging device This is one of the strongest trends of recent years, starting with Apple and in which Xiaomi and Samsung, who initially ridiculed this decision, eventually adopted it in their high ranges.
The trend started with the iPhone 12 and was later joined by the Samsung Galaxy S21. Fact hit the middle ground with the Galaxy A33 and A53.
Xiaomi recently ditched the charger for the first time in a mid-range smartphone, the new Redmi Note 11 SE, picking up on a strategy it adopted with the Xiaomi Mi 11 in China.
