The largest offshore wind farm has appeared off the coast of the United Kingdom.
Hornsea 2, the world’s largest offshore wind farm, was launched 90 kilometers off Yorkshire, England. Such structures are also called “wind farms”. The BBC reported it.
This “wind farm” is located in an area of 462 square kilometers, which is more than half of Kyiv. It consists of 165 turbines with a height of about 200 meters above sea level each.
The wind farm is owned by Orsted. They report that the wind farm is capable of generating electricity for approximately 1.3 million households.
The UK by 2021 will receive 40% of its electricity from renewable sources. A significant part of them accounted for the wind farm.
Remember that the search for alternative sources of electricity is the cause of the energy crisis. The reason for the latter is Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine.

Recall that the Russian invaders dismantled and removed the largest solar power plant in Ukraine. It is located near Tokmak, Zaporozhye region.
