Congresswoman Martha Moyano said on Tuesday that her colleague Luis Cordero John Tay committed “high treason” on the Fuerza court and People’s Party by allegedly participating in “a kind of counter-intelligence group” during Pedro Castillo’s administration.
In an interview program News Extension, Martha Moyano stated that she felt “angry” and “extremely upset” because of Luis Cordero John Tay for his alleged ties to Pedro Castillo when, he stressed, Fuerza Popular was in opposition to the previous government and denounced the “criminal acts” of the former president.
“I notice that this is treason to the party. There is no place even for traitors in the bench or in the party, and even worse, if he is a member of the Intelligence Commission, he is not only a traitor to the party, he was a traitor to the cause, democracy, everything that we are building and support,” he said.
Martha Moyano also specified that Luis Cordero John Tay managed to be Fuerza Popular’s spokesperson in intelligence commission Parliament on its own initiative.
“He offered to be on the intelligence commission, and in the end, the board decided why not many people want to be part of the intelligence commission, when we most want to be active on regular commissions, the other is a commission that lasts five years and does not leave the members of the commission. I repeat. If Mr. Lamb This is part of this group that was supposed to create a kind of intelligence or counterintelligence group and spy on opponents, including Fuerza Popular or me, this is unacceptable,” he said.
“Severe Punishment”
Except, Martha Moyano indicated that he had asked his party to apply the “severest sanction” to Luis Cordero John Tay and explained that a colleague of his had been suspended since December following a complaint about the assault on his wife, a case that is before the Ethics Commission.
“Yesterday I submitted a document to the Commission on Ethics and Discipline (Fuerza Popular) so that a process could be opened for him, and he separated from the party. I submitted it yesterday, and the commission is the one that should start acting immediately. What I ask the party, and I also told the general secretary to be quick and follow the regulation procedure that we have in the party.
