Radio Liberty said that Croatian gunsmiths were involved in Ukrainian currency transactions, as a result of which they bought the Vitezit plant.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is investigating the circumstances of the purchase of an explosives plant Vitesit, which may include funds from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine paid under a contract for the supply of mortar rounds. This is discussed in the Balkan service investigation Radio Liberty.
The investigation is related to a contract worth 1.4 billion hryvnias between the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and a little-known company Lviv Arsenal, completed in November 2022 for the supply of a large batch of mortar rounds.
Ukraine made more than 400 million hryvnias as a down payment, however Lviv Arsenal, deliveries were reportedly delayed, then the company was sued.
According to media reports, in order to fulfill the contract, this company attracted the Slovak company Sevotech, which cooperates with WDG Promet, based in Zagreb (Croatia). The latter has an account in the Czech bank Podnikatelská družstevní zálazna, through which funds are transferred from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. Perhaps, it is planned to buy mines from Croatia.
Coincidentally, Croatian WDG Promet owner Matias Zubak – the son of Croatian arms dealer Zvonka Zubak – acquired a plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina in December 2022 Vitesit for the manufacture of explosives for 5.5 million euros.
According to the publication, Zubak received the funds through WDG Promet from an account in the Czech Podnikatelská družstevní zálazna.
Zubak himself claimed that the funds from the account – a total of $ 5.6 million – were allegedly stolen from him by bank employees in the Czech Republic, forging documents and signatures, buying Vitesse is not related to the contract of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Podnikatelská družstevní zálazna claims that WDG Promet itself withdrew funds from the account. The bank reported this transaction to the Czech financial regulator as suspicious. The representative of the institution, Kamil Babuch, directly accused the Zagreb company of “spending Ukrainian money on the purchase Vitesse“.
Prosecutor’s offices in the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina are investigating these transactions.
The Czech side asked Bosnia, through Europol, to help obtain data on the activities of the companies involved in the case.
We remind you that in August, the Ukrainian defenders were supposed to receive 55 HAWK drones from a private company. For them, the Ministry of Defense paid 650 million hryvnias in advance. A contract totaling 807 million hryvnias was signed with the family company of former people’s deputy Borislav Rosenblat.
