In Russia, rocks collapsed in the Tashtagol mine in the city of Tashtagol (Kuzbass) after a “geodynamic phenomenon”. This was reported by the Kemerovo region prosecutor’s office on Saturday, November 16.
“After a registered geodynamic phenomenon (shock) with an energy class of 5.4, which occurred in the mining branch of the Tashtagol mine, a rock mass collapse occurred from the roof of the mines,” the report said.
The city prosecutor’s office organized an inspection, and Tashtagol prosecutor Andrey Braiko went to the scene.
In addition, the prosecutor’s office monitors the progress of the investigation of the criminal case initiated by the investigation department under the article on the violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities (Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It is known that the roof of the mine collapsed. At the time of the incident, 183 miners were working in the mine. Of these, 182 reached the surface. They are looking for someone.
It was later learned that an aftershock had occurred in the mine. Its consequences have not been reported.
The Tashtagol ore mine supplies raw materials to the Evraz ZSMK plant, part of the Evraz group.
Earlier, in the Lviv region, a collapse occurred in the Vozrozhdeniya mine at a depth of more than 500 meters. Then two miners died.
