Skyror from Scotland has received a license, which could launch the missile of Skylak L from Saxavord that begins complicated by the Schette Islands.
“I’m glad we reached this precious milestone in the Great Britain space sector, and congratulated you on Skyror in the fact that it became the first British company to be allowed to launch a rocket,” said the Aviation Minister of Aviation and Cosmos Mike Kane.
Currently, the license provides up to 16 launch each year, but starting work at Saxavord will start earlier than the beginning of 2026.
Skylak L missile is 11 meters high and is designed for suborbital launch, reaching 120-130 km – above the cosmos border per 100 km, known as the “pocket line”.
However, this missile is not intended for accessing near -earth orbit -this is the target for large missiles of Skyror, in particular Skyror -XL.
“Skyror is proud to lead efforts that allow the launch from Great Britain, and we expect the implementation of a reliable commercial launch program that will benefit all of us,” said Skyror General Director Vladimir Levikin.
Britain has been criticized for the slow development of its own cosmic capabilities, although the space in the space industry has been operating since 2018. The first launch for launch was issued only in 2022, but the launcherone missile, the launch of which in 2023 was conducted by the American Company Virgin Orbit, did not reach the near-earning of an anomaly.
