Within eight months, more than 29,000 soldiers returned to the army for the first time. On August 5, the director of the State Bureau of Investigation Oleksiy Sukkhachev announced this in a comment on Interfax-Ukraine.
This mechanism gives a chance to those who made HSC to return to the military unit and continue the service with a simplified way with the update of monetary, food, material and other security, ”he said.
The director of the Bureau added that the military personnel who committed the HCP can also be exempted from criminal liability in accordance with the court decision.
As you know, the HCP is an unauthorized rest, this is a situation where the military leave the service place without the permission of the commander or good reasons.
We recall that in August 2024, the Ukrainian parliament, freed from criminal liability, those who committed desertion and HSC, if this happens for the first time. In the case of a voluntary return, the military must extend payments and benefits.
And in April of this year, Verkhovna Rada expanded the terms of voluntary return from the HCP until August 30, 2025.
