Russian shelling cut off power to one of the two power lines of the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported this today, November 16, in the morning.
The nuclear power plant is connected to the Ukrainian energy system by only one power transmission line. If this line is also disconnected, another complete blackout will occur at the Zaporozhye station, which is a serious violation of the conditions of safe operation and is fraught with the development of an accident, the department notes.
The press service of Ukrenergo reports that the location of the damage to the main power line of the Zaporizhia NPP has already been established.
Repair teams of Ukrenergo carry out emergency restoration work. “Thank you to our fellow repairmen for working in conditions of high risk to life,” the company noted.
