Attorney General Andrei Kostin held an official meeting with US Attorney General Merrick Garland and the US Department of Justice team. The Office of the Prosecutor General reported this on Sunday, September 29.
During the meeting, together with Madam Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova, we discussed further cooperation between the two departments to ensure the full responsibility of the Kremlin regime for all international crimes committed by it.
Separately, we focused on issues of US support in strengthening the institutional capabilities of the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office and law enforcement agencies.
“The contributions of the US Department of Justice War Crimes Accountability Team (WarCAT) are invaluable to the global effort to investigate and prosecute Russian war crimes,” the press service said in a statement.
The Ukrainian side also stated that it highly appreciates the results of the work of the Disruptive Technology Strike Force group, which aims to stop the supply of parts and materials to the Russian Federation for military production, and the Task Force KleptoCapture group.
We previously reported that the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, during his week in the United States, held about three dozen meetings designed to bring Ukraine’s victory and a just world closer.
Let’s recall that Zelensky met with Trump in New York and presented a plan for victory. Trump said he favors a “just” peace for Ukraine.
