UAH 1.65 billion has already been allocated for the purchase of the relevant equipment, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reported.
The main advantage of the new program is modern equipment. Just imagine: interactive laser shooting simulators, drone control simulators, training dummies for cardiopulmonary resuscitation… And this is only a small part. These are not cardboard targets and rope obstacles. No, now schoolchildren will fire hundreds of thousands of shots at a virtual enemy, practice tactical maneuvers and study the basics of medicine, – commented on the new program Deputy Director for Development at the state institution “Professional Purchases” Dmitry Solovey.
According to him, there are about 400 thousand students in grades 10-11 in Ukraine. According to the plan, several hundred educational cells will be created for them, each of which will be able to serve from 80 to 1000 students. To fully cover all schoolchildren, it is necessary to provide a sufficient number of equipped cells, and this task looks quite ambitious.
If we take into account that each student must fire at least 100 shots on the simulator, this will amount to 40 million shots. And this is not just a figure – this is a real contribution to the training of young people, Solovey emphasized.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the updated course “Defense of Ukraine” is aimed at developing important life skills: from first aid to understanding modern technologies.
Training will take place once a month – these will be practical classes in specially equipped centers, where students will be able to practice the acquired knowledge on new technical equipment.
The key focus of the project is practical training. Each module involves learning and practicing specific skills in drone control, information security, navigation, open source intelligence (OSINT), stress and psychological resilience.
