This was announced by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Andrei Yusov during the telethon on February 1.
He called the issue “extremely complex and dramatic.”
As for the information about the death, yes, Ukraine has addressed and continues to appeal about the transfer of bodies. So far, the Russian side is not agreeing to this. Therefore, the demand of our state remains relevant to conduct an impartial international investigation into not only the circumstances of the crash of the Il-76 plane, but what was actually inside – whether there were people there, whether there was any ammunition other than the crew there, – said the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
On January 31, Yusov reported that everyone from the list on January 24 had been exchanged, except for “the list of 65 people, which Russia announced as if they were dead.”
Yusov clarified that this exchange is the completion of the exchange, which was supposed to take place on January 24. Yusov previously stated that Russia had not shown any readiness to hand over to Ukraine the bodies of its dead prisoners of war, allegedly on board the Il-76 transport aircraft.
On January 31, the 50th exchange took place during the full-scale war; 207 Ukrainians returned home. In total, Ukraine managed to return 3 thousand 35 people from captivity.
