Vladimir Putin signed a decree that provides for an increase in the number of military personnel in the Russian army by 170 thousand people.
“Putin is throwing away human meat.” This is how the White House National Security Council coordinator John Kirby commented on the Kremlin leader’s decision to increase the size of the Russian army in an online briefing, as quoted by Ukrinform.
“There’s no question here that Putin is literally throwing human flesh to try to hold on to territory that they illegally occupied in Ukraine, and try to take more,” Kirby said.
At the same time, he noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are in many ways superior to the Russians, which cannot be compensated by the number of troops. So Kirby emphasized that the command of the Ukrainian army, as well as the weapons that the Ukrainians have, are the best.
“Since Putin cannot match that quality, his response to this is that he is only trying to achieve his goals with a body count, just like what happened in Bakhmut. This only highlights the difficulties the Russians face in Ukraine and continue to to deal with,” Kirby said.
“So our strong recommendation to Putin is that he leave it, and leave Ukraine altogether, and then he doesn’t have to worry about increasing his troops,” the White House spokesman added.
Let’s recall that the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, signed the law on the federal budget of the Russian Federation for 2024, which was previously adopted by the Russian State Duma. The Russian Federation will spend 10.775 trillion rubles next year on “national defense.” A terrorist country returns to the reality of the Soviet era. In recent years, the USSR spent a third of its budget on defense.
As reported, the ruling regime of the Russian Federation planned to form another army army, seven divisions, 19 brigades, 49 regiments and a flotilla in the Russian Armed Forces next year.
