According to the head of state, the city of Slavuta continues to record all the damage from the explosion of Russian drones. The Shaheds shot down by air defense forces were shot down, but many houses were damaged. Glass in the windows, doors, and roofs of buildings were broken. The president published the corresponding video on social networks on October 25.
Zelensky suggested that the Russians could have attacked the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant, where windows were broken by the blast wave, including on the territory of the nuclear power plant.
This strike in the direction of the nuclear power plant is another reminder to all our partners how important it is to strengthen Ukrainian air defense and how dangerous it is when Russia can bypass global sanctions,” he noted.
Zelensky emphasized that the Russians continue to use components in missiles and drones that are supplied from third countries, including Western countries. And only effective sanctions against Russia, according to him, will protect against such terrorism.
The President added that on October 26, at a meeting of the European Council at the level of leaders of the EU states, he will ask to expand sanctions against Russia.
Let us recall that on the night of October 25, Russia struck with “Shahed”-type kamikaze drones near the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant. The explosion damaged windows in the administrative and amenity and laboratory buildings of the station.
In the cities of Slavuta and Netishin, 11 multi-storey and nine private houses, a police department building, two educational institutions, an administrative building, a store and cars were damaged.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that Russia attacked Ukraine with 11 Shaheds and all of them were shot down.
