A number of bills aimed at improving the reintegration system were sent to Verkhovna Rada.
Ukraine’s defense minister Denis Shmygal announced the creation of a “road map” to accompany Ukraine soldiers released from captivity. This was discussed at his military meeting from Russian captivity on Wednesday, August 13, where Shmygal spoke on his telegram channel.
It is mentioned that the main topic of the discussion is the reunion of former prisoners: from medical reviews to the creation of individual units to deal with these issues.
“This is an open and constructive dialogue aimed at determining the priorities for the successful reunion of our fighters,” the report said.
In particular, a wide range of issues that are usually facing the military after returning from captivity has been discussed. Shmygal made sure that all constructive measures were taken in the task.
Also, according to him, work is carried out on system changes. A number of bills were sent to Verkhovna Rada, which was designed to improve the reunion system.
In particular, this is a matter of law that has fixed a military vacation in 90 days. It is also recommended to provide the military an additional monthly cash payment of 50 thousand UAH.
“We agree to create an effective” road map “of supporting liberated fighters. It is necessary to strengthen the protection and support of our soldiers to return from captivity,” Shmygal wrote, adding that their dignity and complete restoration were a priority.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministers’ cabinet was updating the procedure for providing assistance to defenders and defenders returning home from Russia’s captivity. The resolution provides for comprehensive medical, psychological, social and documentary support, as well as expanding the network of institutions for rehabilitation.
