Local leaders and commissions should speed up the process several times in a short period of time, the head of government said.
Recovery projects have been slow in Ukraine, although central authorities have provided the necessary funds. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on Tuesday, June 27.
“We created the Fund for Eliminating the Consequences of Armed Aggression. This is one of the main sources of financing for restoration. There are now almost 62 billion hryvnias in the fund,” he said.
Shmygal noted that the government has already allocated UAH 23.5 billion to various restoration projects.
“At the moment, we see that, despite the allocated funds, the projects are too slow. So I repeat again for all the heads of the Center for Educational Establishments and local authorities: restoration is a priority, people are waiting for help,” stressed Shmyhal.
According to him, according to the program Repair 21,600 applications were submitted, but 378 of them were submitted for payments.
“Only 2%. This is not an enjoyable task! The government created all the tools, adopted the necessary resolutions, procedures and documents, created a digital architecture for the whole process. The local leaders and commission should speed up the process several times. Fast. is not months, but weeks, which we give to fix the situation,” he said.
It should be noted that more than 116.3 thousand war-damaged objects have been verified in Ukraine. And local governments need the help of international donors to accelerate this work.
