In 2025, the number of called Ukrainians detained on the border of Ukrainian Belarusia almost doubled compared to all previous years since the beginning of a full -scale war. This is indicated in the investigation “Info”.
It is noted that these services of the State Border Guard of Ukraine show that from January 1 to August 1 of this year 911 men aged 18 to 60 were detained. These citizens tried to illegally get from the Ukrainian territory to Belarus. This is much more than in previous years. In 2024, 336 border violators were detained in 2023-26, and in 2022-61.
They lead between the regions of the region of Rivn and Zhytomyr. In the Rivn region, 531 citizens were detained during the war, and 484 in Zhitomir. 281 more offenders were caught in Volon and 38 in the Kiev region. Moreover, the Volon region became the only region from which they tried to get to Belarus in the first year of a full -fledged war.
We will recall that now only administrative liability and fines are provided for illegally crossing the state border. Nevertheless, the Ministry of the Interior has developed a bill that provides criminal liability in wartime for illegal care, the use of fake documents or damage to the border infrastructure.
