The size of the statue, including its lower part, which was excavated decades ago, is about seven meters.

During excavations near the Egyptian city of Minya, an Egyptian-American team of archaeologists discovered the upper part of a statue of Pharaoh Ramses II. It was reported by Reuters.

The limestone block found is about 3.8 meters high and depicts a seated Ramses wearing a crown and headdress topped with a king cobra.

At the top of the statue’s rear column are hieroglyphic inscriptions glorifying the king, one of the most powerful pharaohs of Ancient Egypt.

The total size of the statue, including its lower part, which was excavated in 1930, is about seven meters. Archaeologists have begun preparing a block to unite both parts of the statue.

Also known as Ramses the Great, he was the third pharaoh of Egypt’s Nineteenth Dynasty and reigned from 1279 to 1213 BC.

It was previously reported that archaeologists have completely excavated the remains of the Temple of Artemis on the island of Euboea (Greece), which was built around 700 BC.

A bronze dagger more than four thousand years old was found in Poland.
