Minister of Defense Jorge Chavez, indicated that intelligence information reported gatherings and organizations to hold a protest in Lima called “Second Capture of Lima” or “Final Capture of Lima”. He added that this information communicates that as many people as possible are being called.
“Although it is true that peaceful marches are a constitutional right that every citizen must express voluntarily (…) I think that this is a constitutional right and that they are empowered to express their legal right, but the fact that to perform acts of degeneration that are violence is something else,” he said.
In an interview with RPP Noticias, head intelligence considered that the acts of violence that took place during these legitimate protests would have some interest, “politically biased, to destabilize the actions of the government.” He added that some of these groups are close to the former president. Pedro Castillo and they will be led by the peasant leader Lourdes Huanca.
“Exactly (they are associated with Pedro Castillo). I think this is the line that they insist on the release of the former president. Pedro Castillo”, – he pointed out, specifying that appropriate legal measures were taken so that the ex-president could not coordinate these mobilizations from the pre-trial detention center, where he is being held preventively.
On another occasion, the Minister of Defense reported that the police were “taking all precautions” in connection with this new mobilization destined for the city of Lima. Regarding complaints of police and military abuse, he asked “not to be a judge or a prosecutor and not condemn any action” until the courts cleared up these allegations.
“As for this kind of action, we have three procedures: the first is the administrative procedure from the Inspectorate, which is promoted through the Joint Command of the Armed Forces. The second is, depending on what is being said, the Military Court Police (…) We have provided all the information very clearly,” he explained.
The collectives coordinate the march against Pedro Castillo.
Aymara communities to take part in new protests
Aymara citizens from the provinces of El Collao and Yunguyo, in the southern zone of Puno, left for Lima on two buses to participate in new mobilizations against the president. Dina Boluarte to demand her resignation and an early election.
The demonstrators were fired by their relatives and are expected to arrive in the capital tomorrow. On Wednesday, March 1, this mobilization is scheduled in Lima.
IN Fist protests against Dina Boluarte They began on December 14 with roadblocks across the city, which is also the region with the highest number of deaths since social protests began.
The Ilawe road to Desaguadero in the provinces of El Collao and Chucuito in the aforementioned jurisdiction was again taken over by the Protestants. The road connecting the region to the border with Bolivia is again not possible.
It should be noted that during the easing of the preventive measure, free movement of vehicles was allowed for two days, but the protesters firmly indicated that, as part of the “dry strike” announced by public organizations, the roads would not be opened until further notice.
In addition, the protesters indicated that if they approach the cities of Puno and Juliaca, the truce will last until today, and from tomorrow these sections will be blocked again.
