He decided to go to the front precisely thanks to his older brother, because he did not want to let him go himself.
Ukrainian dancer and model Nazar Grabar, who now serves as a volunteer at the front, told how he learned about the death of his brother Ilya. He revealed this in an interview with Anatoly Anatolich for his YouTube channel Ze Interviewer.
In particular, two brothers served in the same unit, and on that fateful day the dancer was wounded – a grenade fragment hit him in the chest. Until the last moment, he did not want to talk about the wound with the commander, because his relative would stand up, despite the enemy shooting, and help him.
“But the longer we went, the more blood I got. I got cold – hypothermia started, which means I lost a lot of blood. So the company commander said to check me,” he said.
The star was examined at the first-aid post, told that he had to go elsewhere for an x-ray, because the injury could be fatal. Therefore, after the X-ray, the defender is sent to the clinic, where they can extract the fragment and perform the operation.
“I said, ‘No, no, no. I can’t leave. I have a brother in the position. I won’t go.’ But they still took me. It’s three hours to go. And I don’t know why, but I stupidly sob all the way. How long we drove, I cried all the time. Tell him I’m fine, I’ll be back soon. “They answer me that everything is fine – Ilya slept, everything is quiet. And throughout the day: I ask how Ilya is, they answer me with that. everything is fine,” said the defender.
However, at night, Nazar was awakened by a phone call from the commander, who told about the death of Ilya.
“Somewhere in the middle of the night, the commander called me. I took it, and the first words I heard, he said: “Sorry, Nazar, they didn’t save me. Ilya died.” My reaction – I didn’t believe it. I ran out of the ward and said: “No way! It can’t be like that.” He said: “They’re covered, carpets – with tanks, and mortars, everything, everything. We’ve been trying to get the body out of position for hours, but it’s covering us too much. More than six were injured who tried to pull out. This night was for me, perhaps, the most terrible of my life. I spent the whole night on my knees in the hospital sobbing,” Grabar summed up.
It was previously reported that Nazar Grabar, who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the first days of the war, said that his brother was killed in a battle with the Russian invaders.
