1. Record number of views
The first trailer for “Inside Out 2”, which was released in November 2023 and introduces Anxiety into the plot, reached 157 million views in the first 24 hours, surpassing even “Frozen 2”. This record is a first for Disney animations, as it doesn’t happen very often; watch it!
2. Time Jump
“Inside Out 2” was released nine years after the original film, but the story takes place just two years after the events of the first film. As mentioned by the emotions, Riley is 11 years old in “Inside Out”, turning 13 during the sequel.
3. Lenny Binoculars
In a scene from “Inside Out 2”, Joy and Sadness can be seen using a pair of binoculars that, coincidentally, also appear in another famous Pixar film. The character Lenny, from “Toy Story”, is a toy of the same model!

4. Meaning behind the name Boredom
The name of the new emotion Boredom in the English version of the film is translated as “Ennui”, which is a French word that combines a feeling of dissatisfaction resulting from a lack of things to do with tiredness and disinterest.

5. Fanny pack, Bloofy and references to classic characters
For young people who grew up in the early 2000s, it was easy to associate Bloofy the dog and his talking fanny pack with characters that shaped their childhoods. The clear references to the backpack from “Dora the Explorer” or even the magical device Toodles from “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” are obvious, as both display the same characteristic behavior of popular educational cartoons of the time.
