Ipsos presents a new survey of French women over 50. It has been implemented with more than 1000 women.
This October 18 is World Menopause Day. On that occasion, the Ifop/Flashes research conducted for Humasana, conducted with nearly 1,000 women over 50, revealed new insights into their relationship with aging. Purposeful? See how they feel within our society where there are many dictates. And while 72% of respondents say they are satisfied with the image given to them by society, this figure has decreased since 2007, as dissatisfaction has increased from 17% to 28%.
In any case, this survey reveals a certain number of complications related to aging. Thus, almost 9 out of 10 women in this age category (that is, 89%) report having a complex;
aging of at least one part of their body. Top 3? First the stomach (75% of respondents), then the hands (64%) and the face (61%).

Impact on morale
More than 6 in 10 women, or 63% (up from 50% in 2007), would also like to work on their stomach more effectively to limit the effects of aging. On the other hand, the buttocks and legs cause the least complications (42%). The neck, chest and bust are also indicated.
While social networks, personalities and even the media are trying to remove some age-related taboos and defend body positivity, the survey shows that aging remains a sensitive topic for many women. Almost half of respondents (46%) say they fear aging, and 23% fear
to look older than their age. And if 37% of the surveyed women consider themselves as attractive as before, then 35% admit that they are jealous of their younger peers.
The research also shows that 61% of women over 50 have already noticed at least one effect of aging and that it has affected their morale. Among the top three signs, we note the appearance of wrinkles (83%), joint pain (82%) and gray hair (77%), as well as signs associated with menopause, such as facial skin changes (81%), weight gain ( 75%) and sleep problems (72%).
Therefore, there is still a long way to go before the natural aging process is no longer perceived negatively or as a burden by women in our society.
