In 2016 – 2021, the Ocean Plaza shopping center evaded taxes and did not pay 546 million hryvnias.
Russian oligarchs Arkady and Igor Rotenberg, who own the Ocean Plaza shopping and entertainment center in Kyiv, did not pay taxes worth more than 500 million hryvnias to the state budget of Ukraine in 2016 – 2021. This was announced by the head of the National Police Ivan Vyhovsky at a briefing on January 22, writes Interfax-Ukraine.
“There are high-profile criminal proceedings – this is the well-known LLC Lybid, these are Russian oligarchs – Igor and Arkady Rotenberg, who own Ocean Plaza. And it was found that in 2016 – 2021, the specified business evaded taxation and 546 million hryvnias were not paid,” he said.
According to Vygovsky, from the beginning of the war, the National Police put financial control over the operations of 7,000 residents with economic ties to Russia and Belarus, and thus prevented the withdrawal of funds totaling more than to 200 billion Hryvnia in the Russian Federation.
Let’s recall that in March last year, the court confiscated the Ukrainian properties of Russian oligarchs Arkady and Igor Rotenberg, in particular, the Kiev Ocean Plaza shopping center. The value of Ocean Plaza’s nationalized assets is $300 million.
Arkady Rotenberg is called a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was with him that the construction of the Crimean Bridge was associated. In October 2022, sanctions were applied to Rotenberg by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
