Different mobilization processes in the Russian Federation may exacerbate social tensions in the country.
The Kremlin cannot create a reserve mobilization, even of low quality, if the Russian Federation cannot quickly solve the basic and systemic problems. This conclusion was made by military analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
It noted that discrepancies in the mobilization order and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements on the categories of men exempted from mobilization are causing anger and distrust in the Kremlin.
In the first 48 hours after the announcement of the partial mobilization in the Russian Federation, there were protests, attacks on recruiting stations and acts of vandalism.
As noted in ISW, different mobilization processes in different regions could exacerbate social tensions in Russia.
Recall that on September 21, the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, announced a partial mobilization in Russia.
According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, a total of 300,000 reservists will be placed in the army.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that in the first phase of partial mobilization, the Russians plan to understaff their formations and military units fighting in Ukraine, and part of the forces may go understaff in border service.
Earlier, the ISW said that the slight mobilization in the Russian Federation would not have a major impact on the course of the war in Ukraine in the coming months.
