Pope Francis expressed his anxiety and pain situation in Nicaragua and called for “an open and sincere dialogue” so that “reasons could be found for coexistence respectfully and peacefully.
In address at the end of the Angelus Prayer in St. Peter’s Square, the Supreme Pontiff did not refer to the arrest this Friday of Bishop Rolando Alvarez of Matagalpa by police agents.
“I follow closely with concern and pain for the situation that was created in Nicaragua that affect people and institutions, I would like to express my conviction and desire that, through open and sincere dialogue, the foundations for a respectful and peaceful coexistence can be found,” said the Pope, who until today did not tell situation in Nicaragua.
