Due to the United States allowed to officially buy oil from Iran, Tehran can now exchange oil for military aircraft.
Iran decided to consider the successor to the Russian SU-35 fighters, who drew attention to the Chinese J-10C, which could be a cheaper option compared to the Mig-35 and SU-35. Immediately after a 12-day war with Israel, Tehran has actively active negotiations with taking the Chinese J-10C, the Kommersant reports.
According to the publication, negotiations lasted nearly twenty years, but the agreement was not reached due to disagreement with payment terms. Back in 2015, they reported the possibility of ending a contract for a supply of up to 150 aircraft, but the issue remained at the level of discussions.
The situation changed after the last confrontation of Israel, when the advantage of this nation in the sky became clear. It prompted Iran to be forced to equip their military forces in new cars. For this reason, the head of the Iranian Ministry of Defense, Brigade General Aziz Nasirzade, visited the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tsindao, China.
It is important to note that the United States in June allowed China to officially buy Iran oil without the risk of penalties. This has given Tehran an additional negotiation lever: the ability to use a barter system, oil exchange for military aircraft.
Remember that at the beginning of the year there was information about Iran’s Russian SU-35 purchase, but the details were not disclosed about the number of aircraft.
Earlier, China Van’s Foreign Affairs minister said the PRC supported Tehran in a conflict with Israel.
