Verkhovna Rada approved two bills for launching Defense City.
On Thursday, August 21, the parliament supported draft laws No. 13420 and No. 13421 260 and 259 votes, respectively. Defense City provides for the introduction of a special tax and regulation regime, which should support Ukrainian weapons manufacturers. Danilo Getmantev, deputy folk “vote”, Yaroslav Zheleznyak and the “servants of people” were registered in Telegram.
These draft laws provide that tax benefits will be applied before January 1, 2036. Weapons manufacturers will not need to pay income tax if the company will increase the money earned in development. They are also exempted from land, environmental taxes, as well as real estate tax.
It is known that Defense City is a special taxation and regulatory regime, which is aimed at supporting Ukrainian weapons manufacturers. Future residents of Defense City will include a special list of defense industry enterprises. These factories and firms will receive tax benefits and will be able to bind their production in a simplified procedure.
These enterprises will also have the right to export products. Information about them will disappear from state registers to protect against Russian attacks.
However, in society, this draft law caused disputes and indignation, because earlier journalists determined many cases of corruption and violations when buying weapons and other products.
We will recall that on August 20, the Verkhovenna Rada voted for 229 people, made in a change in the state budget, as with concern mainly non -government expenses.
