This applies to all military personnel who are entitled to remuneration in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 168.
The payment of an additional remuneration of up to 100 thousand UAH for the period of treatment after an injury (concussion, injury, injury associated with hostilities) is now also reserved for police officers and private and commanding officers of the civil protection service.
For all other categories of persons, there were no changes in the payment of remuneration up to 100 thousand.
The procedure and conditions for paying additional remuneration to military personnel and members of the families of the dead are determined by the heads of ministries and state bodies. The specified payment procedure as of today still does not exist.
The resolution states that these changes will have a retroactive effect in time and will be applied from the beginning of martial law, but it is still unknown how such norms will be applied.
Meanwhile, analysts of the educational project “The Price of the State” of the analytical center CASE Ukraine investigated how the army is financed today.
According to Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, if in 2021 spending on the army amounted to UAH 156 billion a year, now spending is 130 billion monthly. That is, the cost of the army during the war increased 10 times.
This, accordingly, was reflected in the structure of the state budget. Today, spending on the army makes up 75% of the state budget.
At the same time, the volume of payments for the monetary allowance of military personnel (the military do not receive salaries in the classical sense) reached UAH 64 billion in June, which is UAH 4 billion more than in May.
