On the left bank of the Kupyanskaya community there is no electricity, no gas, no water supply, no social services. However, more than 900 people refused to evacuate.
The community of Kupyansk is in a critical situation due to the continuous shooting by the Russians with all the weapons they have. The head of the city’s military administration, Andrei Besedin, spoke about it on Saturday, January 4, in a telethon.
He said the front line was only two kilometers from the city, complicating the delivery of humanitarian aid and the evacuation of the civilian population.
“The enemy is close, the front line is two kilometers from the city of Kupyansk. The shelling does not stop with all kinds of weapons that the enemy has: mortars, artillery, many rocket launch systems of various modifications, guided bombs and FPV drones, used by the enemy in large numbers, hitting logistics routes, central supply routes, preventing, in particular, the delivery of humanitarian aid and the freely movement of the civilian population,” Besedin said.
According to him, the situation on the left bank of the Kupyansk community has remained critical for more than three months. More than 900 people remain there in poor conditions, mostly the elderly, refusing to evacuate.
“No electricity, no gas, no water supply, no social services, shops, pharmacies, hospitals. More than 900 people remain there, mostly old people who absolutely refuse to leave, who are in inhumane conditions,” the officer described the situation. .
Let’s recall that on December 23, the invaders tried to expand the bridge on the left bank of the Oskol River in the direction of Kupyansky. The mechanized attack of the enemy army took place in two waves, but was unsuccessful – it was repulsed by the Ukrainian defenders.
