Air Serbia did not comment on this decision, but airlines from several other countries announced similar decisions after the crash of a plane near Grozny.
Air Serbia will stop operating flights from Belgrade to the Russian cities of Kazan and Sochi from the end of January. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) with reference to data from the airline’s reservation system.
It was noted that the last flight to Kazan is scheduled for January 18, and to Sochi – for January 20.
The airline has yet to make an official comment on the cancellation of flights. However, previous similar decisions were made by Azerbaijan Airlines, Kazakh Qazaq Air, Israeli El Al, Arab Flydubai and Turkmen Airlines. The reason was the crash of an Azerbaijani plane.
We remind you that on December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed in Kazakhstan on a Baku-Grozny flight. 38 people were killed, mostly citizens of Azerbaijan. Later, the media reported that the plane was attacked on approach to Grozny by a missile from the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft complex. After that, the Russians banned the crew from landing at Russian airports.
