During the Russian attack on Ternopil on the night of December 2, an enemy drone hit a high-rise building – as a result, 45-year-old Ternopil resident Vitaly Remenets was killed in an apartment on the fifth floor.
The drone hit caused a strong fire in the apartment. Vitaly died on the spot along with his pet dog, said Ternopil mayor Sergei Nadal.
His wife Ivanna covered her 11-year-old daughter Veronica with herself, which saved her life, but she herself received numerous burns and is in serious condition. Alina’s eldest daughter was not at home at the time of the attack. The family’s apartment was completely burned down.
“This was an exemplary family that lived in marriage for 21 years and raised two beautiful daughters who were left without a loving and caring father,” wrote the mayor of Ternopil.
