Security forces fired tear gas at protesters who took to the streets chanting “Freedom!” and “This government will fall!” and even toppled several statues of Hugo Chavez, Maduro’s predecessor who served as president for 14 years before his death from cancer in 2013.
One of the statues was toppled in Coro, the capital of Falcon state. There are already casualties among protesters and security forces.
