This was made possible by lower consumption compared to the forecast due to cooler weather.
On Monday, closure schedules apply in Ukraine. At the same time, the time for applying a larger amount of restrictions has been reduced, Ukrenergo reported on June 17.
“Today, oblenergos throughout Ukraine will apply hourly outage schedules (HBO): from 8:00 to 24:00 – 1st stage. Attention! The time for applying greater volume of restrictions is reduced: 2 stages will be applied simultaneously from 19 :00 to 22:00 “, the message said.
It is indicated that this was possible due to the decrease in consumption compared to the forecast due to the cold weather.
To cover the lack of capacity in the energy system, today Ukraine imports electricity from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Moldova with a total volume of 27,219 MWh, with a peak power of up to 1,572 MW in some specific time.
Export is not in progress and is not expected.
Due to the weather, 14 settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv regions were cut off in the morning.
For other reasons, 471 settlements have no electricity supply. Due to the fighting, there were new power outages in Sumy, Kharkov and Kherson regions.
Also, for technical reasons, there is a blackout in the Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions.
The day before, Ukrenergo predicted an increase in outages this week. This is especially true during the night hours.
We remind you that power engineers predict that July will be the most difficult period for the Ukrainian energy system. It is at this time that nuclear power plants undergo scheduled maintenance.
