Six individuals and three legal entities were included in the sanctions list due to the transfer of Shahed-type attack drones to the country to the aggressor. Restrictions were also introduced due to the transfer of missiles to terrorists in the Middle East and the Red Sea region. This is stated in a press release of the Council of the European Union.
The sanctions included Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Rezu Gharai Ashtiani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Qods Force (IRGC-QF) and head of the Iranian Aviation Industry Organization (IAIO) Afshin Haji Fard. Their assets will be frozen and they will be banned from entering the European Union.
Also subject to restrictions:
- the central headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya is a body within the command structure of the Iranian armed forces that makes operational military decisions on the deployment of UAVs;
- Kavan Electronics Behrad LLC, a company that buys and sells components for the production of drones, along with the CEO and chairman of the board of directors;
- the IRGC navy involved in the supply of Iranian weapons.
Let us recall that in March, the Iranian military presented the latest long-range drone GAZA, which has a wingspan of 20 m and can be located at an altitude of 10 km. The flight range is 2 thousand km. This UAV is equipped with a turboprop engine and satellite communications and can carry 13 bombs.
