Deputy Chairman of the National Police of Ukraine – Head of Patrol Police Alexander Fatsevich reacted to the scandalous situation with police officers of the Dnieper special forces battalion who refused to join the Lyut brigade.

The corresponding message was published on the Telegram channel of the National Police.
Fatsevich emphasized that the police stood up to defend Ukraine from the first day of the full-scale invasion:
- counteract DRG;
- facilitate the evacuation and rescue of people;
- directly participate in hostilities on the contact line.
- since 2014, combined police detachments have served in the ATO and JFO zones, and volunteer battalions have also been created, primarily to confront the enemy;
- Since 2022, special forces from various units have become full-fledged combatants for the first time in the history of the Ukrainian police; the assault brigade of the National Police “Lyut” has been created.
And now, at the end of the second year of full-scale enemy aggression, it is logical that volunteer battalions and individual police officers, who can and are able to professionally defend the Motherland, should not be dispersed to carry out combat orders, but should be centralized into the “Lyut” brigade.
According to him, this is why, in addition to constant recruitment into the assault brigade, the structural units of the National Police are being reorganized, designed to create the most effective system within the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Those who want to fight go to the front. There are also a lot of police tasks for the rest,” he noted.
Regarding the video that is being distributed on social networks about the special-purpose regiment in Dnieper, the leadership of the National Police will clarify all the circumstances and make appropriate decisions, Fatsevich emphasized.
